  Sabine Silberstein freut sich, euch ihre persönlichen Lieblingsstücke in der Trade und Religions Gallery zu zeigen. Der Schmelztiegel Singapur wurde von verschiedenen Einflüssen aus Ost und West geprägt, durch Handel mit Gütern und Weitergabe von Gedanken/Religion (diese Führung ist eine Wiederholung von der Führung im Januar 2024).

  “Street art can make a city feel like an open-air gallery” Conde Nest Traveller
  

  Not so long ago, painting on walls was considered criminal. Thankfully, we have put those days behind and our streets have come alive with bright colourful murals.  
  

  The colourful street scenes and trades of Little India provide the perfect backdrop and inspiration for many of the murals; there are over 40 murals in the thoroughfares and side streets.

  Through their vibrant and lively brush strokes, established artists, students, migrant workers and the community in Little India, have shared with us the heritage of this historical district and the contributions made by the early immigrants. Come on the tour with Charlotte to hear about what the various animals, shapes and objects in the murals tell us about the beliefs and culture of the Indian community. 

  The tour will end near Little India MRT, where you can stay on for lunch (optional).

  Please note that there will be lots of walking, please put on comfortable foot ware, bring a bottle of water and an umbrella.

  Der regelmäßige Stammtisch richtet sich an alle, die unternehmerisch, digital und/oder kreativ tätig sind und Lust haben, sich in lockerer Atmosphäre sowohl beruflich als auch privat auszutauschen und ggf. auch zu unterstützen. Willkommen ist jeder, der Spaß am Netzwerken hat und sich austauschen und weiterentwickeln möchte.

  Das Arbeiten von zu Hause hat sich immer mehr durchgesetzt, kann aber auch zur sozialen Isolation führen. 

  Singapur hat keinen Mangel an arbeitsfreundlichen Cafés. Neben unserem Austausch werden wir die unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten des Arbeitens ausprobieren und uns da treffen, wo arbeiten Spass macht.  

  Unsere Networking Gruppe hat für jeden etwas zu bieten – egal, ob ihr neu in Sinagpur seid oder schon lange hier lebt, ob ihr bereits ein Unternehmen habt oder darüber nachdenkt ein Business aufzubauen.  Zusammen ist man weniger allein .

• Vesak Day Temples Tour

  Vesak is considered the holiest day observed by Buddhists all over the world. Informally known as "Buddha's Birthday", it actually encompasses the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha.

  On this tour with our guide Charlotte, we will visit 3 temples, each representing a different tradition of Buddhism, as they prepare to celebrate the most important day in the Buddhist calendar.

  The first temple, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, popularly known as Bright Hill Temple, is the largest monastery in Singapore and one of the largest in South East Asia. Founded in 1921, this extensive monastery and temple which comprises of 11 sections, are adorned with intricate architectural designs, elaborate Chinese decorations, breath-taking statues of Buddha and Bodhisattva, gardens and shrines.

  Next stop is the Burmese Buddhist Temple, built in the traditional Myanmar style and houses the largest pure white marble statue of the Buddha outside of Myanmar. Hear the story of how one man’s determination to fulfill the mission of introducing the Theravada school of Buddhism in Singapore, led to the building of this temple.

  Our final stop is a Tibetan Buddhist Temple where many of their devotees are young Singaporeans. The small but colourful temple is very involved in charity work, including providing free Traditional Chinese Medicine consulting service, acupuncture and medicine for the needy.

  Meeting point: At the front of Newton Hawker Centre, 9.00am

  • Please put on attire which covers shoulders and knees
  • Foot ware to be easily slipped on/off as we need to remove them at the entrances to the temples
  • Bring a bottle of water 
  • Our tour has several stops that can be reached via transportation. A bus is available and transport charges, which have to be paid directly to the bus driver on the day of the tour, apply (depending on the number of participants).

  Unser langjähriger Corporate Partner St James’s Place – The Heritage Partnership, welcher auf Expatriates Beratung spezialisiert ist, wird am Donnerstagabend, 23. Mai, um 18.30 Uhr im Swiss Club einen spannenden Anlass zum Thema “Kernelemente einer massgeschneiderten zielorientierten Finanzplanung fuer Expatriates“ durchführen. Denn gerade Expatriates mit oder ohne lokalen Arbeitsvertrag erfahren häufig Lücken in der Vorsorgeplanung und legen überschüssiges Kapital nicht beduerfnisgerecht an. Zudem fallen Kosten fuer die Ausbildung der Kinder an, die geplant werden müssen und auch was Lebens- und Krankenversicherungen betrifft entstehen allenfalls Deckungslücken.
